Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Audacious Innovations, LLC ("Lore," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Lore mobile application and related services (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lore. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. You may sign in with Sign in with Apple or with an email and password.

2. The service

Lore is a reading companion that lets you track your library, capture notes and "lore" about the books you read, and interact with an AI companion that answers questions scoped to your reading progress. We may change, add, or remove features over time.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Lore — your notes, quotes, library, and other entries ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the App to you, including transmitting relevant content to our service providers (such as our AI provider) to deliver the features you use. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content already shared or retained as required by law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

• post, store, or transmit unlawful, infringing, harmful, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative content;
• attempt to generate such content through the AI features;
• violate the rights of others or any applicable law;
• reverse engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems; or
• use the App in any way that could harm Lore or other users.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You can report objectionable AI responses from within the App (press and hold a response), or contact us at sarah@audaciousinnovations.com.

5. AI features

Lore's AI features are powered by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. It is generated automatically and is provided for your personal, informational use only. Do not rely on AI output as professional advice (including legal, medical, financial, or similar advice), and independently verify anything important. You are responsible for how you use AI output. By using the AI features, you consent to your relevant content being processed by our AI provider as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions (Lore Pro)

Lore offers an auto-renewable subscription, Lore Pro, that unlocks additional features.

• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Free trials. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store (or Google Play) account settings. Deleting your Lore account does not cancel your subscription — you must cancel it through the store.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple/Google and are subject to their refund policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.

Prices and features may change; we will give notice as required by law and the app stores' rules.

7. Deleting your account

You may delete your account at any time from You → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and associated content. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Audacious Innovations, LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Audacious Innovations, LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Tennessee, the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. [Optional: dispute-resolution / arbitration / venue clause — confirm with counsel.]

12. Apple App Store terms (EULA)

This section applies to your use of the App obtained through Apple's App Store and supplements these Terms:

• These Terms are concluded between you and Audacious Innovations, LLC only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
• Your license to use the App is a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the App; any failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the "Last updated" date; material changes will be communicated in the App. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
